In 1971 he received a Bachelor of Science degree in Professional Photography from Rochester Institute of Technology. After college he returned to Danville and did commercial, portrait, and wedding photography for the family business. During this time Dick started selling his nature photographs at art shows and traveled full time exhibiting and selling his work at art shows all over the country.
In 1978 he moved to Breckenridge, Colorado and opened his own gallery selling his nature photographs, sold his own postcard line and started and promoted three art shows in Breckenridge.
After moving to Florida Dick started and ran Naples Custom Photo in Naples, FL with his brother and had a gallery of his work in Bonita Springs.
He now continues to travel extensively attending art shows and photographing some of the most beautiful places in this country.
